The Problem & Goal
Streamlining Clinical Workflows
I set out to design a solution that simplifies ABA clinic management, reducing the heavy burden of documentation on BCBAs so they can focus on patient care and outcomes.
The Challenge
BCBAs and clinical staff spend countless hours on documentation, dealing with fragmented systems that are not built specifically for ABA therapy. This leads to burnout and less time for actual patient care.
User Pain Points
- Writing SOAP notes and progress reports takes too long.
- Scheduling and billing are overly complex in existing EMRs.
- Clinicians need an all-in-one solution designed specifically for ABA workflows.
Project Goal Statement
Team ABA is an all-in-one ABA practice management platform that helps clinicians, technicians, caregivers, and organizations manage client care, data collection, scheduling, reporting, and clinical operations. Success will be measured through improved workflow efficiency, documentation compliance, staff productivity, and client outcome tracking.
Research & Discovery
User Research
Conducted user interviews and surveyed professionals to understand their struggles with current ABA EMR solutions.
Key Insights
✅ Clinicians spend valuable time on documentation and administrative work.
✅ Many ABA organizations rely on multiple disconnected systems.
✅ Poor visibility into staffing, cancellations, and workload can increase burnout risk.
Competitive Analysis
I analyzed leading ABA platforms such as CentralReach, Hi Rasmus, Catalyst, and Motivity to identify opportunities for a more unified and user-friendly solution.
I identified several key areas where Team ABA can provide greater value:
- Complex workflows and steep learning curves that slow staff adoption.
- Multiple add-ons, hidden costs, and fragmented feature sets across different products.
- Lack of seamless integration between clinical data, scheduling, and staff/client management.
- Limited analytics and reporting capabilities that hinder data-driven decision-making.

Final Thoughts
Reflection
TEAM ABA successfully blends intuitive design with powerful clinical tools, filling a massive gap in ABA software. By focusing on the exact needs of BCBAs, I created an EMR that reduces documentation time and improves clinical outcomes.
"TEAM ABA makes it so easy to stay on top of clinical documentation without feeling overwhelmed! The AI-assisted notes and automated reports have completely changed how I work."
